A Cuban woman was taken into custody this Thursday in Hialeah, accused of violently assaulting her romantic partner and subsequently attempting to erase the crime scene.

The suspect, identified as Ailin Vargas Ginarte, 42, faces charges of aggravated assault causing serious bodily harm and tampering with evidence, according to reports from local media and police documentation.

The incident unfolded around 5:00 a.m. at a residential complex located at 1855 West and 56th Street in Hialeah. Officers from the city's Police Department responded to an emergency call placed by a concerned citizen.

Upon arrival, they discovered a man lying near the staircase, bleeding heavily from a severe head wound. "He was covered in blood, and when the officers arrived, they noticed a significant injury to his head. He claimed it was the result of a fight with his girlfriend," stated Eddie Rodríguez, spokesperson for the Hialeah Police, to the local press.

The victim was treated by paramedics and taken to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital. During the initial hearing, Judge Glazer set a total bail of $10,000—$7,500 for the aggravated assault charge and $2,500 for evidence tampering. Additionally, Vargas Ginarte was ordered to stay away from the victim and vacate their shared residence.
