A collaborative operation executed by the General Prosecutor's Office and the State of Mexico's Security Secretariat led to the seizure of a property in Coyotepec. This site housed stolen goods and vehicles valued at over nine million pesos. Among those apprehended were five men, including two Cuban nationals, as reported by Milenio.

According to the official statement, law enforcement officers carried out a search warrant at a location in La Planada neighborhood. They discovered various dry boxes, semi-trailers, and trucks reported as stolen, some of which were loaded with hygiene products, mattresses, soft drinks, and items of Chinese origin. The commercial value of these seized goods was estimated at 9.15 million pesos.

The individuals detained were identified as Francisco “N,” Eric Daniel “N,” Alejandro “N,” Maikol “N,” and Dairon “N,” with the latter two being of Cuban nationality, according to Milenio. All suspects were handed over to judicial authorities, who will determine their legal status in the coming hours.

The investigation commenced following a report of a stolen Kenworth semi-truck with a dry box filled with hygiene products. The victim was reportedly intercepted on November 5th in the municipality of Tepotzotlán by several armed men, who seized the vehicle and held the victim captive for approximately three hours.

This prompted the Public Ministry to request a search warrant, which led them to the Coyotepec property. In addition to the stolen truck, other vehicles with active theft reports were found.

The location also revealed six dry boxes with tampered identification markers, four semi-trailers, three medium-duty trucks, and a Dolly-type vehicle, all loaded with stolen merchandise.

The State of Mexico, where this operation took place, is a major hub for logistics and industry due to its strategic location connecting it to Mexico City and essential transportation corridors. Unfortunately, its strategic position also makes it one of the regions most affected by cargo theft, a common crime impacting both large companies and smaller transport operators.

Mexican authorities indicated that the five arrested individuals are under investigation for their alleged involvement in express kidnapping for robbery purposes. Ongoing inquiries aim to determine whether they are linked to other cargo theft syndicates in the area.
