In Cárdenas, Matanzas, Jesús Antonio González was taken into custody after injuring an intruder's arm with a makeshift firearm.

A 54-year-old man was wounded in the arm while searching for a piece of zinc to cover a charcoal oven he was building at his home, as reported on Facebook by the pro-government page Con Todos la Victoria. The incident took place in the Fructuoso Rodríguez neighborhood.

The injured individual was at a landfill on the Zeopónico farm when the property owner, suspecting a theft, shot him with a homemade gun crafted from a tractor injector.

The wounded man was promptly taken to a medical facility for treatment. Meanwhile, the farm owner is facing charges for possessing a firearm and causing bodily harm.

In a separate incident at the end of October, a 14-year-old boy was shot in Camagüey. The firearm involved was the standard-issue weapon of a Revolutionary National Police (PNR) officer, who also accidentally injured himself during the incident, according to a statement from the Ministry of the Interior (MININT). The shot occurred during an attempted arrest, labeled as an "accident" by the authorities.

The teenager, who was allegedly resisting arrest with a knife, was rushed to Eduardo Agramonte Piña Provincial Children's Hospital and had to undergo surgery.

Around the same time, it was reported from Perico, Matanzas, that police retrieved several firearms. This information, also shared by the Con Todos La Victoria Facebook page, has left many questions unanswered due to the limited details provided.

According to the brief post, "several firearms were recovered in Perico" with the help of three citizens. The recovered items included two revolvers of calibers 38 and 22, two rifles of caliber 22, and a 12-gauge shotgun. The weapons were allegedly surrendered by individuals claiming they belonged to deceased relatives.
