Cuban in the U.S. Provides Aid to Families in Holguín

Adonis David Martínez, a Cuban immigrant living in the United States originally from the town of Velasco in Holguín, has initiated a humanitarian effort to deliver food and essential goods to the most needy families in his community, which was recently devastated by Hurricane Melissa.

Martínez shared several videos on social media showcasing the door-to-door delivery process of food and necessary items, which were distributed among the most vulnerable individuals.

In his statements, the young man highlighted that he received support from other Cubans both in the U.S. and in Cuba to make this assistance possible.

"Thank you to everyone who has supported me. I'm not doing this alone; there are many people behind this who also want to help. If you know of families who are struggling, please let me know so we can reach them as soon as possible," Martínez expressed in one of his posted videos.

The situation remains dire in eastern Cuba. The provinces of Holguín, Santiago de Cuba, and Granma are among the hardest hit by the weather event, leaving entire communities without electricity, severely damaging homes, destroying crops, and causing food shortages.

Amidst this crisis, acts like those of Adonis David Martínez bring hope to those who have lost almost everything. His efforts not only alleviate the difficult circumstances of many families but also strengthen the sense of unity and empathy among Cubans both on and off the island.
