Spanish Influencer Moves to Cuba Without a Return Ticket: Her Reasons Explained

The content creator known on TikTok as @vivirdeliciosamente recently shared with her followers the motivations behind her temporary move to Cuba. Though she was born on the island, she left at a young age.

"Alright, let me tell you, why I made this decision and why Cuba," she began in a TikTok video. "Everyone's been saying I'm Spanish, but I was actually born in Cuba. I have dual nationality and have been living my whole life in the Basque Country, in Bilbao," she explained to her audience.

Despite considering Bilbao her home, she mentioned that she had been going through a rough patch, prompting her to reassess her future. “I felt the need to connect with a part of myself that I never really got to know, which is the Cuban side,” she admitted.

"I was having a tough time in Bilbao and thought it was a good opportunity to change my surroundings and reconnect with a part of me that’s unfamiliar," the influencer added.

The video, which has garnered thousands of views and comments, has sparked mixed reactions among Cuban and Spanish users. Some applauded her for seeking her roots and firsthand experience of Cuban life, while others warned her about the economic and social challenges the country faces.
