Preña Palma has once again stirred up laughter on Instagram, and this time, it's all about a branch. Not just any branch, but a viral TikTok branch, allegedly shipped from the depths of the Congo (according to him), for the hefty price of $2,500.
In a video that seems to be a playful jab at his partner José Mesa, known as Yoyi, Preña Palma proudly showcases the branch as if it were a fine interior decoration piece. "I've been meaning to show you this; it arrived in the mail today. It's the branch that's trending on TikTok, and everyone wants one. It's currently on sale, usually $5,000, but I paid $2,500, including shipping," he explained.
Yoyi, however, was far from experiencing any zen moment. He quickly reacted to the mention of the price: "Wait, wait, $2,500 of what? What currency is that? Mexican pesos, CUC, national currency?" he inquired. When he realized it was $2,500 in US dollars, Yoyi's expression changed dramatically, and it didn't improve as Preña Palma continued to emphasize the branch's unique origin and how lovely it would look in the $600 vase he bought to display it.
"If you spent $2,500 on that, you can pack your things right now and go sleep under a bridge. You could have given me the $2,500, and I would have cut a piece of a mango branch for you to put in a vase," Yoyi retorted without hesitation.
Adding fuel to the fire, Preña Palma admitted he made the purchase using Yoyi's American Express card because it offered a 50% discount. "You're out of your mind," Yoyi said bluntly, instructing him to pack up the branch carefully and return it.
The exchange between the two amused their followers, but something notable occurred: Yoyi, typically quiet on camera, became quite animated, all thanks to the viral TikTok branch.
