A Cuban national is among three individuals facing serious charges for allegedly breaking into a woman's home in Miami-Dade County, repeatedly assaulting her, and threatening her life, authorities have reported.

Raydel Sánchez, aged 37 and a native of Cuba, along with Jerry Byron, 38, and Johanna Kuhn, 21, were apprehended by officers from the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office (MDSO) as the suspected perpetrators of the attack on July 16, as detailed by local media.

According to the arrest report, the incident occurred around 6:45 a.m. at an undisclosed location in the police document. Prior to the assault, the victim had alerted police after witnessing Byron drag another woman into a nearby residence. As officers were investigating that matter, the three accused individuals broke through the victim's back patio door and entered her home.

Once inside, Sánchez allegedly grabbed the woman by her shirt, tearing it, and shouted, “B, you’re going to let us in here, or we’ll kill you.” As she attempted to call her family for help, Byron reportedly snatched her phone away.

The situation escalated once police officers left the scene. In the backyard, Sánchez is said to have struck the woman with an umbrella, while Byron kicked her. She managed to escape in her vehicle, but was pursued by Sánchez to another residence where he attempted to assault her again, as per the report. Later, upon returning to her home, Sánchez allegedly awaited her and struck her on the back with a baseball bat.

Authorities arrived soon after and arrested Sánchez, while Kuhn was identified and apprehended later, according to Local10 News, citing the MDSO report. Police records also indicate Byron's arrest.

All three suspects are charged with robbery with assault or battery, aggravated battery, and robbery with intimidation. Sánchez has a lengthy criminal record, including multiple charges of assault, theft, drug possession, evidence tampering, among others, as noted in online court records from Miami-Dade County.

Byron is being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center (TGK), alongside Kuhn, while Sánchez remains at the Metrowest Detention Center. The bail for Sánchez and Kuhn is listed as "to be set" in the records.
