Cuban-American Congressman Carlos Giménez declared on Saturday that Secretary of State Marco Rubio intends to give a Halloween-style "trick or treat" to Nicolás Maduro, hinting at a potential end to the Venezuelan regime. "For the first time, we have forces in the Caribbean. We're at war with narcotraffickers. And who runs these narcotraffickers? Nicolás Maduro. There's a $50 million bounty on Maduro's head. We are at war with the leader of Venezuela," the Republican stated during the presentation dinner for the Cuban Anti-Communist Foundation (FCA)

Giménez expressed confidence that significant developments are on the horizon. "I'm quite certain something will happen. Maybe by Thanksgiving or Christmas, but something will happen," he added, as shown in a video released by journalist Mario J. Pentón. An audience member shouted "Halloween" as another potential date for Maduro's downfall, to which the congressman playfully agreed. "Halloween? I think Marco will show up with a 'trick or treat.' The trick is the B2 bomber up there. The treat? You're out of here," he joked.

Implications for Cuba and Regional Politics

Regarding Cuba, Giménez noted that "Venezuela supports the Cuban regime with oil, among other things. If Venezuela falls first, we can see what happens in Cuba, as Cuba is currently at its weakest point in history. We have the Secretary of State and three congressmen dedicated to Cuba's freedom," he stated. "We are always fighting and conspiring on how to mess with the Cuban regime, with Nicolás Maduro, and with Petro in Colombia," he added.

Giménez's comments align with those of his colleague María Elvira Salazar, who, in response to the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to María Corina Machado, claimed that "Nicolás Maduro is terrified" and that his downfall is imminent. "Cockroaches never want to die, but the great exterminator named Donald Trump is coming with a fully loaded fumigation tank, ready to wipe them all out," Salazar told Politico when asked about the award given to the Venezuelan opposition leader.

The Florida representative asserted that the Nobel Prize renders Machado an "untouchable" figure, comparing her to historical icons like Simón Bolívar and George Washington.
