Saturday, October 11, 2025 by Hannah Aguilar

On October 10, Cuban urban artist Oniel Bebeshito made a remarkable appearance during the halftime show of the Argentina versus Venezuela match at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. Although the stadium wasn't packed to capacity, Bebeshito managed to capture the audience's attention by entering the field draped in a Cuban flag, a symbolic gesture that elicited cheers and applause from the stands.

Bebeshito's performance, characterized by the energetic reparto rhythm, also served as a tribute to the late singer El Taiger. His name was prominently displayed on the stadium's LED strip alongside mentions of iconic figures like Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi. Despite its brevity, the performance held significance for fans of Cuban reparto, reinforcing the presence of Cuban talent on international stages, even those not traditionally associated with this genre of music.

In the match itself, Argentina secured a 1-0 victory over Venezuela in their first friendly match of their U.S. tour. The lone goal was scored by Giovani Lo Celso. Meanwhile, soccer superstar Lionel Messi did not play but watched the game from a stadium suite.
