Dominican Influencer Destino Files $3 Million Lawsuit Against Otaola: Here's Why

Wednesday, October 1, 2025 by Isabella Sanchez

The tension between Destino Positivo and Alexander Otaola is escalating as Dominican influencer Destino Tolk has announced a $3 million lawsuit against the Cuban personality. The legal action stems from comments Otaola made on his show.

In a recent video on his social media channels, Destino highlighted that his attorney, Karel Suárez, has previously won cases against Otaola and his lawyer. "Now, I'm taking three million from him," Destino asserted. "The mayor practically accused me of being a drug dealer," he mentioned on his TikTok account.

This latest conflict originated during an interview Otaola conducted with Abejas Meme. During the discussion, Otaola claimed that Cuban presenter Frank Abel—who was part of Destino's team until July—avoids appearing on his show, El Mañanero, because there are no drugs provided to guests. "He doesn’t come because there's no line of coke here, nothing like that. We're not like Destino, who encourages that kind of thing," Otaola remarked.

Destino responded on his social media, calling the accusation serious and announcing his intention to sue. "In other words, he said I supplied drugs to Frank Abel so he'd work here, which is practically an exchange," Destino noted.

Otaola, however, seemed unfazed by the looming lawsuit. "Oh, Destino is promoting an energy drink and needs a scandal with me because I'm the only one who sells his show," Otaola commented dismissively.

Frank Abel's Departure and Personal Challenges

Back in July, Frank Abel announced his voluntary departure from Destino Tolk and his withdrawal from media engagements. He cited a challenging personal phase involving health issues, a legal matter with the Immigration Court, and new developments in his personal life.

"Given everything that’s happened, after leaving the hospital, and dealing with media outlets that want to distort the truth and crush me for reasons I still don’t understand, I decided to take a break," the host explained. "My nerves can't handle coming to record with the worry I have. I'm seeking medical attention, and while I love this job, I need time with my family and their genuine support," he elaborated.

The Dominican influencer emphasized that Frank Abel remains part of the project, and the program's doors will always be open for him whenever he chooses to return.
