A Cuban woman living in Michigan recently took to TikTok to share insights about rental costs in the city of Flint, as well as her personal experiences residing in the United States with her children. "I decided to make this video because many people ask me if living here is a good idea. Everyone has their own perspective, but for me, Michigan has been a welcoming place," said the young woman, who goes by @la.bebe0780 on the social media platform.

She highlighted that the biggest challenge of living in Michigan is the weather: "It gets cold here, the winter lasts about six months and it's not the kind of winter we're used to in Cuba. It's a harsh winter, and you need to be prepared."

Regarding rental prices, she noted that in Flint, costs are more reasonable compared to other areas in Michigan: "I live in a three-bedroom house and pay $900 in rent. You can also find homes for $800."

Addressing Safety Concerns

Addressing concerns about safety in the city, she clarified that it largely depends on the neighborhood: "I've seen comments suggesting Flint is a lively area, but I've been here for over a year without any issues. My kids go to school and everything is fine."

While acknowledging that Flint may not be the most picturesque city, she emphasized that it has allowed her to save money and live peacefully with her children: "It's not a beautiful city, but it's calm, and things are going great for me."

She concluded with advice for those considering a move to Michigan, urging them to research the area they plan to live in and prepare for the winter. "Michigan won't make you a millionaire, but it does allow you to save a bit more because things are cheaper," she concluded.
