Thursday, September 25, 2025 by Olivia Torres

A Cuban expatriate recently took to TikTok to share the detailed expenses of his inaugural journey to Cuba. He described the experience as an opportunity to bring joy to friends, family, and many children. The total expenditure amounted to $1,483 for six days.

In a video posted on the @raidel_ramirez.5 account, the young man revealed that his airfare alone was $600, purchased through a travel agency specializing in flights to Cuba. Additionally, he spent $250 on toys, candies, coloring books, school supplies, and other items he distributed among the children in his village.

Part of his expenses went towards organizing two group outings: one to the beach and another to Las Terrazas and the San Juan River. For both excursions, he rented an entire bus to transport dozens of friends, covering their entrance fees to the recreational sites. This part of his adventure cost approximately $283.

The traveler exchanged $120 into Cuban pesos for everyday expenses like fast food and minor outings. He also spent $130 to treat his mother and several companions to a meal at a restaurant in Havana, which he described as expensive by local standards. Lastly, he provided nearly $100 as direct financial support to family and friends.

“In total, it was $1,483. I've seen people spend $5,000 or $10,000, but with this amount, I made many children happy and enjoyed the company of my friends and family,” he remarked in the video.

The account sparked numerous comments from Cubans on TikTok, eager to compare their own expenses and experiences when visiting the island.
