Yoyi Marks a Decade in the U.S.: "Every Tear, Sleepless Night, and Effort Were Worth It"

Cuban content creator José Mesa, widely known as Yoyi, touched the hearts of his followers by commemorating his ten-year journey in the United States with a heartfelt message of gratitude and perseverance on social media. "A decade ago, I arrived in the U.S. with only a suitcase full of dreams, my diplomas, some old photos, and the hope of building a new life," Yoyi shared on Instagram, alongside a photo reel capturing significant moments from his ten years away from Cuba.

Yoyi, who has made a name for himself as an influencer and comedian, reflected on the long nights of study, the exhausting work shifts, and the relentless effort that defined his early years in America. "I learned that coffee keeps you awake so you never give up," he noted.

This milestone anniversary celebrates several of Yoyi's accomplishments, including achieving permanent residency, buying two homes with his partner Maikel—whom he credits as his greatest support—obtaining U.S. citizenship, and fulfilling personal dreams such as purchasing his dream car and traveling the globe.

Perhaps the most cherished moments of the past decade are the family reunions. Yoyi successfully brought his mother, grandmother, sister, and nephews to the United States. "Life blessed me with the chance to bring my mom over from Cuba, and later my grandmother," he shared with emotion.
