The renowned Cuban comedian Cuqui La Mora is on the path to recovery after being hospitalized in the United States due to a kidney stone. From her hospital bed, she shared a photo on Instagram, updating her followers with her trademark humor.
"I've had a pebble in my shoe and another on my path, but this is my first kidney stone—more like a boulder. But I'm fine now, out of danger and pain, thank God," she wrote.
In her post, Cuqui also praised the U.S. healthcare system, drawing inevitable comparisons with Cuban healthcare: "I love this country more every day. The hospital and the care are incredible," she added.
Despite the health scare, the comedian confirmed that her upcoming performance in West Palm Beach, scheduled for Friday, September 19, will go on: "The show is still on. I'm as whole as Publix ground beef," she joked.
With her unique flair, Cuqui concluded her message by promising to discuss the hospital bill later: "I'll tell you about the bill later," she said with a laugh.
