The family of Alexander Graveran, a 47-year-old resident from Las Terrazas in Artemisa, has publicly denied rumors circulating on social media regarding his death and has called for respect during this difficult time.
Recently, Facebook pages such as "Díaz Canel sin Gao" and "La Tijera," along with crime reporter Niover Licea, spread the narrative that Graveran was murdered and found battered on a road in Candelaria.
Although Licea's video has been removed, likely deleted, it stirred up comments where the deceased's wife firmly rejected these claims. “I, Natalia Mesa, wife of Alexander Graveran, refute all the slander and lies being spread about my husband's accident and demand respect for me and my family,” she stated in the comments section.
The family's grief has been exacerbated by the spread of these rumors. A relative, Lineth de la Caridad Mena Graveran, reached out to CiberCuba, requesting clarification of the incident and an end to the dissemination of false information. “On August 17, my relative, Alexander Graveran, died. He was from Las Terrazas. Rumors claim it was a murder and that he was found beaten, which is false. He had a motorcycle accident, was treated by specialists, arrived with all his belongings, and was never assaulted. Unfortunately, he passed away due to the fall,” she confirmed.
The woman described the circulating publications as "fake news for monetization" and urged respect for her loved one's memory. “I just want this information to reach every person spreading these false claims because it's causing more pain,” she emphasized.
As of now, the authorities have not provided an official statement on the incident, fueling speculation on social media. However, the family remains adamant that Alexander Graveran's death was an accident and demands that their tragedy not be exploited to spread unsubstantiated versions.
