Francelys Infante, the wife of renowned singer Romeo Santos, recently opened up about a harrowing experience that nearly cost her life. She took to social media to share her ordeal involving three brain aneurysms, taking the opportunity to raise awareness during September, which is recognized as Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month. "This experience has completely altered my outlook on life, health, and what truly matters," Infante stated.
Accompanied by images of nature and tranquility, Infante's post aims to spread awareness about this life-threatening medical condition. "I share my story not just for reflection, but because awareness can save lives," she expressed.
The Start of a Terrifying Ordeal
What began as a seemingly harmless migraine quickly escalated into something far more severe. The increasing intensity of the pain drove her to seek urgent medical attention. "I felt an intense pressure in my neck and on the left side of my head, like someone was squeezing my brain. It felt like a knife was lodged in my eye. I thought I was going blind," she recounted during an interview with the American outlet TODAY.
The situation worsened during a video call with Romeo Santos. "I couldn't even see the phone. I told him, 'Just talk to me, because I can't see with this eye,'" she recalled. Alarmed by her symptoms, her doctor promptly sent her to a neurologist in Miami, where she was diagnosed with two aneurysms in a cerebral artery, with a third one discovered later.
A Race Against Time
"They told me, 'You needed surgery yesterday.' It was a complete shock," Infante confessed. In less than 48 hours, she arranged everything at home, including care for her young children, and flew to Miami. Her surgery took place in November 2023, and doctors deemed her recovery miraculous. "You probably had just hours, not more than a day or two, before it would have ruptured," they informed her.
While her health has improved, Francelys admits she still lives in fear. "When I have a headache, I wonder, 'What if it's another aneurysm?'" she shared. Nonetheless, she strives to channel her fear into prevention. "If you experience severe pain or anything unusual, listen to your body. It might save your life," she wrote, urging others not to ignore warning signs.
A New Chapter and Advocacy
Having turned 40 in August, Francelys is now focused on using her experience to help others and is working on a personal project set to launch soon. On her Instagram account @n2b4b, she has begun sharing glimpses of this new chapter. "Something beautiful is coming," she teased, as her story continues to inspire countless individuals fighting for their health and a second chance.
