The friction between Italian producer Roberto Ferrante, owner of Planet Records, and influencer Destino Tolk continues to intensify, hinting at potential legal action... Following the announcer’s introduction of his new record label, Destino Tolk Music, based in Miami to compete with Planet Records by signing Cuban artists, Ferrante took to social media with a series of posts warning of international lawsuits. The Dominican influencer swiftly retorted with a bold statement: “This isn't Cuba, it's the USA.”

In several Instagram stories, Ferrante directly addressed Destino, sharing an image of the influencer alongside phrases like: “For those still using neurons,” “They manipulate the networks and all of you for dirty money…,” “These guys dream of being Planet Records…” and “International lawsuits in preparation.” The image made it evident who Ferrante’s message was targeting.

Ferrante’s reaction seems to stem from Destino’s recent declaration that he will distribute Cuban music without contracts, allowing artists to retain 80% of their earnings, thanks to a partnership with the platform ONErpm.

Destino wasted no time in fighting back on social media with a straightforward and provocative message: “The dictator is scared. This isn't Cuba, this is the USA. I’m waiting for the lawsuit,” he wrote. He further taunted: “Come to Miami, I’ll pick you up at the airport. Your monopoly is over.”

The influencer also mocked Ferrante’s supposed legal threat, labeling him a “ridiculous old man,” and invited him to send a private message to get the address where he should deliver the lawsuit.

The conflict originated when Destino alleged that Ferrante filed a strike on his YouTube channel, leading to the removal of an interview with reggaeton artist El Chulo. The content creator condemned the move as an attempt at censorship, prompting him to establish his own record label in the United States, challenging what he perceives as Planet Records’ dominance over Cuban artists.

Artists like El Chulo and Dany Ome have already voiced their support for Destino’s venture, applauding the creation of a new path for musicians from the island.

With legal threats on one side and public challenges on the other, the clash between Ferrante and Destino could signify a turning point in the Cuban music industry.
