Cuban influencer La Melliza couldn't hold back her excitement when reminiscing about one of the tracks that truly gets her going: "La corrupción," the iconic hit by the duo Chacal and Yakarta that defined a generation and still heats up the dance floor more than 14 years after its release. During a recent interview with reggaeton artist Yakarta on the podcast De La Vida, La Melliza was overwhelmed with emotion as she discussed this song that, as she confessed, drives her wild.
"If they play 'dime si fumas, dime si tomas, dime si te las das,' I'm all in. Oh, I completely lose control! I'm very weak. You put a plate here and play that song, and I'm all in, and from there, I'm off to the ER with a panic attack and palpitations," she exclaimed with laughter, staying true to her spontaneous and uninhibited style as she recounted part of the lyrics from this sizzling track.
Her candidness sparked laughter among those present, including Yakarta himself, who couldn't resist chuckling at the influencer's energetic display.
The reggaeton artist also shared memories from those times when the duo was a sensation at every performance. One of the songs that, according to him, truly caused a stir among female fans was “El blúmer,” so much so that on more than one occasion, some intimate garments ended up in the singers' hands right on stage.
The interview was a humorous journey back to the golden days of Cuban urban music, when Chacal and Yakarta reigned supreme with their daring lyrics and infectious rhythms.
