Even a light drizzle was enough to leave several streets in Havana submerged this Saturday, underscoring once again the collapse of the city's sewer system, as reported by local residents. Cuban photographer Sergei Montalvo Aróstegui took to Facebook to highlight the flooding issues reported in Cuatro Caminos and Centro Habana, attributing them to drainage problems.

"We, the residents, are the ones who have to clear the blockages in the sewers so that the water can drain and the streets become passable again," he wrote alongside videos showcasing the flooding.

Civic frustration is mounting against state institutions responsible for maintenance, such as Comunales and Aguas de La Habana, as they are held accountable for the lack of cleaning in the storm drains. "What are the competent authorities doing?" questioned one resident.

Just a few days ago, the Calzada del Cerro area also experienced flooding, with videos shared by the independent outlet CubaNet depicting the iconic avenue transformed into a river, water reaching the doorsteps of homes.
