Cuban singer Dianelys Alfonso Cartaya, better known as La Diosa, addressed criticism on Thursday regarding her choice to sell the puppies of her dog. In a new video shared on her social media platforms, the artist appeared calmer and admitted that she might not have communicated her message clearly in her initial statement, which could have led to misunderstandings. "I was upset because lately, Cubans attack me for everything, and I made a hasty video and probably didn't explain myself well," she remarked.

La Diosa explained that she decided to breed a litter because she wanted to personally experience it and ensured it was done under veterinary supervision. "I performed a cesarean at a clinic, and fortunately, everything went wonderfully without any issues for the mother or the puppies," she noted. Beyond the procedure, the singer emphasized the effort involved in raising the puppies: "I spent a fortune and endured sleepless nights. The exhaustion is immense. It's not just about money; it's about time and dedication." Therefore, she defended her decision to sell them, clarifying that she received no help during the process and that selling them does not mean she doesn't love animals.

She also wanted to draw a clear distinction among her critics. "I'm not explaining myself to those who insult me for selling the puppies. I'm speaking to the people who know how to listen," she expressed, noting that there are pet stores and shelters for those who prefer to adopt.

Despite the backlash, La Diosa showed respect for those who wrote to her about adopting animals. "I'm very happy to know there are people like you who rescue these animals and give them a home. I respect you immensely. I even want to apologize to you because I didn't know how to explain myself," she said.

Finally, she mentioned that she still has two puppies to find homes for and hopes they find a family that will love them. "To those who disagree with me, adopt. I'm sure you'll be thanked," she concluded. The reactions to her video were swift, and rather than dying down, the conversation on social media became even more lively, but this time with a flood of supportive messages. Many users shared their experiences raising litters, defended the singer's right to sell her puppies, and criticized those who attacked her. Comments like "You're absolutely right," "That takes work and a lot of love," and "No one knows how hard it is to raise a litter" dominated the comment section. Although there were dissenting opinions, the majority agreed that everyone should be free to decide how to manage their animals' upbringing, as long as it's done responsibly and lovingly.
