A Cuban woman recently shared on TikTok a habit she can't seem to shake, even after leaving the island. "Cuban women, let me know if you agree, I just can't drop this habit," she remarked in the video, which has garnered numerous reactions as she displayed how she stores meat in her freezer.

Despite purchasing packaged meat at a foreign supermarket, the young woman explained that she continues to repackage it into smaller bags before neatly organizing them in her refrigerator. This practice, deeply rooted in Cuban households, stems from the necessity of rationing food to make it last throughout the week amid the island's chronic shortages.

"It's something ingrained in us, and even though it's no longer necessary here, I can't stop doing it," another Cuban woman commented on the post, resonating with many followers who admitted to doing the same.

In the comments section, several users confirmed they also hold onto this "habit" from their days in Cuba, when organizing food into small portions was almost a survival strategy. "I confirm, I can't shake it off either haha," "What a relief, I'm not the only one in this country, just like the little bucket in the bathroom haha," and "We left Cuba, but Cuba hasn't left us," are some of the responses left on her post.
