Cuban Influencer Shares Disappointing Hotel Experience in Jibacoa

Renowned Cuban content creator, Daine, who goes by @daine.sw on social media and is recognized for her lifestyle and travel insights, recently shared her unexpected experience at the Hotel Memories Jibacoa. She spent five days and four nights at the establishment, initially drawn in by the glowing reviews she found online. However, upon arrival, she discovered a stark contrast due to numerous facility shortcomings that marred her visit.

Daine recounted in a video that, although the room's mattress was spacious and comfortable, the bathroom had significant hygiene and maintenance issues. "The bathtub was dirty, the shower was rusted, and the masonry was poorly finished," she lamented, providing visual evidence of the dilapidation.

The situation did not improve when she visited the common areas. The pool had dirty edges, minor cracks, and a cloudy jacuzzi, which deterred her from using it. Despite these setbacks, she had no complaints about the food, noting a good variety and satisfactory service. However, she expressed disappointment with the hotel's beach, recounting an incident where her partner was injured by a hidden piece of glass in the sand.

While the hotel's cocktail service failed to impress, Daine acknowledged the general attentiveness of the staff. Nonetheless, she advised her followers to consider accommodation options in Varadero, where she believes better services can be enjoyed at comparable prices.

Accompanying her video was a reflection aimed at those planning vacations in Cuba: “What is most important to you when booking a hotel?” She emphasized that her goal is to present an unfiltered reality. “We know how challenging it is to book a hotel without any idea of what it’s like, only seeing what they want you to see,” she stated.
