An individual has been taken into custody for snatching a phone from a worker in Cárdenas, located in the province of Matanzas. The incident occurred at the intersection of Vives and Calzada, where a woman's phone was forcibly taken as she waited for the bus to Varadero, according to the state-affiliated Facebook page "Con Todos la Victoria."

The suspect, Slayt Pérez Pedroso, was apprehended after a search at his residence led to the recovery of the stolen phone, as stated in the report. "Currently, he is unemployed and will face charges for his involvement in the crime. ZERO TOLERANCE towards crime, illegality, and social indiscipline," concludes the post from this official propaganda profile.

The Cuban public has voiced increasing concern over the rising crime rates in various regions of the country, particularly regarding violent robberies and daylight thefts. Such incidents fuel the ongoing debate about public safety in Cuba, where many citizens feel increasingly vulnerable to criminals who act with impunity.

On the same Saturday, it was reported that water tanks at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center (CMLK), intended primarily for impoverished families in eastern Cuba, were stolen amidst a growing climate of lawlessness. The police claim to be investigating the incident. Yuliet Teresa Villares Parejo, the CMLK's Communications Coordinator, reported the theft on Facebook. She noted that the stolen containers were unique and owned by the center located in Marianao, Havana.

Also on Saturday, details emerged about a traffic accident that occurred the previous Wednesday on Calzada de Santo Suárez in the Diez de Octubre municipality, Havana. The accident not only left a motorcyclist injured after being hit by a trailer but also sparked societal outrage: an individual exploited the chaos to steal the victim's belongings rather than offer assistance.

Facebook user Ofun Meyi Tanke Cuba reported that a man, who appeared to be at the scene during the accident, falsely claimed to be a relative of the motorcyclist and used this deception to take the victim's documents and personal items. The stolen items included the victim's ID card, driver's license, and other important papers.
