Cuban influencer Sandro Castro, the grandson of the late dictator Fidel Castro, recently captured attention on social media by showcasing his new and eccentric "pet"—a silicone hand inspired by Thing, the iconic character from the American series The Addams Family. This quirky hand, adorned with a "Cristach" brand tattoo, has been christened "Magnolia" by Sandro, who introduced it with a touch of exaggerated humor while strolling along Havana's Malecón.
Sandro engaged in a bizarre performance, using the hand as if it were alive to greet and "pet" strangers, leaving no one indifferent to his antics. "From today, Magnolia is a part of me," he declared, though the most intriguing aspect of his message was yet to come at the video’s conclusion.
The most media-savvy Castro directed a few words towards Cuban reggaeton artist Wampi, expressing his discontent over not being featured on the cover of "El Rey de La Habana 7," the singer's upcoming track. This week's satirical illustration released by Wampi has sparked buzz for its depiction of a scene filled with references to urban genre figures and Cuban showbiz influencers.
Among the characters followers claim to recognize are Chocolate MC (whose name is found on a trash can), Un Martí To Durako (accompanied by two women alluding to "tortilla"), Ferrante wearing a shirt that reads "Compro views," and three dogs representing Charly, Johayron, and Ja Rulay. The illustration also features Kenny Robert in his role as Jessica, Osniel Kimii and Samantha Hernández as a couple, along with Popy and Raymel, and presenter Alex Otaola emerging from a sewer with a microphone in hand.
Despite the crowded scene, Sandro Castro was nowhere to be found, omitted entirely, which clearly did not sit well with him. "Wampi, you didn’t include me in the picture, man. This is getting out of hand," he quipped, feigning indignation.
