A fundraising effort on GoFundMe has been launched to gather financial support for the funeral expenses of Osmanys Randich, a 33-year-old Cuban father who tragically lost his life in a car accident in Port Arthur, Texas. The campaign, initiated by Greeis Álvarez, has so far raised $6,137 towards a $12,000 goal.
"With deep sorrow and sadness, I regret to announce the unexpected passing of my husband Osmanys Randich... I kindly ask for your help to give my husband the farewell he deserves," the campaign message reads.
The widow explained that her husband was the sole provider for the family, and she is now left to care for their five-month-old baby alone. According to a report from msn, the accident happened early Sunday morning at approximately 4:00 am on the 2300 block of Wignall Avenue.
Randich was driving a Maserati when he lost control, causing the vehicle to veer off the road, cross a deep ditch, roll over at least twice, and crash into a large oak tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Port Arthur Police Department has announced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Known also as Osmanys Danger, he was originally from Santiago de Cuba and resided in Spring, Texas, according to his Facebook profile. His wife, Isabel Álvarez, also Cuban, lives in Houston and studied at the University of Medical Sciences of Santiago de Cuba.
The family is appealing to the community for solidarity to help them navigate this challenging time and ensure a dignified burial for the young father.
