A dramatic vehicular collision occurred on Friday at the entrance of the Pan-American Village in Havana, resulting in at least one person being injured. According to the Facebook page La Tijera, the incident took place in the Los Tres Picos area, when two state-owned vehicles collided.

Eyewitness Roberto C. Casademunt reported encountering the scene and speaking with those who witnessed the event. He stated that the crash involved an ETECSA company vehicle and a private car. "From what I was told, the ETECSA vehicle, while ascending the hill, swerved to avoid a pothole midway and ended up on the curb. It then flipped over to the opposite lane as the private vehicle was descending, leading to the collision," he detailed.

Casademunt also noted that the ETECSA truck driver was unharmed, but the driver of the private car was reportedly taken away with a severe leg injury.

Earlier this week, another accident occurred near Havana's entrance, involving an overturned vehicle. This incident took place near the First Ring access and the Calvario Bridge. The overturned Mitsubishi bore state plates.

Factors such as excessive speed, poor road maintenance, and unfavorable weather conditions are contributing to the rising risk of such accidents. On Thursday, a traffic accident on the Téneme curve in Holguín province injured several individuals, including a woman in critical condition and two minors.

This incident occurred on the Mayarí–Moa highway, between Cabonico and the Frank País municipality, involving a private vehicle carrying seven passengers.
