Tuesday, August 5, 2025 by Emma Garcia

The Cuban reggaeton artist Maxwell has once again shown his generous spirit by reconnecting with a young boy to whom he had previously gifted 2,000 Cuban pesos while the boy was selling sweets on the streets. "I told you I'd find him again... The boy who I gave 2,000 pesos last time received an even better surprise today. Obbatalá rewards me threefold for doing good and helping many," the singer shared on his Instagram, alongside a video capturing the heartfelt reunion.

While driving, Maxwell recognized the boy still selling his goods on the street. Without hesitation, he stopped his car and asked if the boy remembered him, to which the boy responded with a broad smile. This time, the reggaeton star handed him 5,000 Cuban pesos, much to the boy's astonishment and joy, and promised that next time, he would give him 100 dollars.

The artist's gesture was met with a flood of praise from his followers: “This is what people with a good heart do, and you are the best—the universe will repay you”; “God will bless you greatly, blessings and regards”; “Thank you, young man, that is a child who instead of playing in a park is fighting for life in Cuba”; “Always the kindest at heart.”

Highlighting a Serious Issue

The video also sheds light on a troubling issue—children in Cuba being forced to work at a young age to make ends meet. One follower commented, “I don’t understand how they allow a minor to sell like that, it’s heartbreaking. God bless you.”
