The distressing wait has come to an end: Cuban actor Edgar Alejandro Valle Remis, who had been missing with his dog since Sunday night, has been found safe and is now reunited with his family, according to close sources. "Edgar and his dog have been found and are back with their family," confirmed actor Hamlet Paredes Grau on Facebook. "I am grateful to friends and colleagues who quickly mobilized to find him and to the person who spotted him and informed his family."

Actor and activist Daniel Triana (known as Danielito Tri Tri) also shared the good news on social media: "Edgar is now with his family on the way home. Thank you to everyone who mobilized; social media, when used well, is incredible. Solidarity saves us."

The profile LilloetAinhoa Kalika Maliah Kanoa Makani, who also reported the disappearance, commented: "Edgar has appeared!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you to all who were concerned and spread the news."

As of the publication of this article, the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the 27-year-old Valle Remis remain unclear. The young actor was last seen around 11:00 p.m. on July 27, leaving his home near the zoo on Avenue 26 in Nuevo Vedado, Plaza de la Revolución, with his black pitbull named Huno. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing black shorts and a white T-shirt and did not have his cellphone with him.

Family members, friends, artists, theater companies, and neighbors conducted an exhaustive search in his neighborhood and nearby areas, turning to social media to alert the public. As time passed without news, concern and anxiety intensified.

His uncle, independent journalist Lázaro Yuri Valle Roca, who is in exile in the United States, appealed for help on social media to find him, expressing his worry: "I hope it's not a forced disappearance by the regime's enforcers; may God ensure nothing bad happens to him. I hope everyone helps if they see him; the last sighting was near the Clínico Quirúrgico Hospital on Avenue 26."

Actor Paredes Grau organized a bike ride through Nuevo Vedado, near the zoo where Valle Remis and his dog were last seen. Posters with contact numbers were placed on poles, walls, and around the neighborhood to aid in the search.

The vigorous social media campaign played a crucial role in locating the actor and his dog. Valle Remis, born in Havana in 1997, graduated from the National School of Art (ENA) in 2015 and studied at the Higher Institute of Art (ISA). He is currently part of the prestigious Teatro El Público company and has recently been involved in the staging of The Merchant of Venice, directed by Perséfone Teatro. His other notable works include Perla marina (2015), Harry Potter. The Magic is Over (2016), and The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant (2019), all directed by Carlos Díaz. Valle Remis is also a film actor, having appeared in Leontina (2012), directed by Rudy Mora; Last Days in Havana (2014), by renowned director Fernando Pérez; and Conejo (2017), by Carla Forte.
