A small plane crash in Palm Beach County, located in the southeast of Florida, resulted in the hospitalization of at least seven individuals, including four children, after the aircraft collided with a vehicle in a residential street. The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. local time on Monday, on the 3800 block of Lake Osborne Drive, near Cochran Drive, in Lake Worth Beach.

The crash site was merely minutes away from the Palm Beach County Park Airport, also known as the Lantana Airport, from where the plane had taken off. Authorities stated that the aircraft, an Orlican M8 Eagle model, commonly used for personal and instructional flights, only reached an altitude of 100 feet (approximately 30 meters) before losing control and crashing just a minute after takeoff.

Before reaching the ground, the plane grazed treetops, struck the roof of a moving car, and ultimately collapsed onto a sidewalk, prompting a swift response from emergency services. "Just prior to impacting the ground, the plane brushed the roof of a passenger car," a spokesperson for the Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (PBCFR) shared with Newsweek. Images from the scene depicted the airplane's fuselage severely damaged and lying a few feet from the affected vehicle.

Fortunately, no fire or significant fuel spill occurred, allowing emergency responders to act quickly. The aircraft carried two people: the pilot and a passenger, both transported to the hospital under "trauma alert" status, suggesting potential critical injuries. In the vehicle were five individuals—an adult and four children—who were also taken to a nearby hospital as a precautionary measure.

"One had a head cut, another was sitting perfectly, and they were being loaded into the ambulance," recounted local resident June Bingham to Local 10, describing the occupants' condition.

NBC Miami reported that the car involved sustained only minor roof damage, while the plane's front was described as "completely destroyed." The fire department spokesperson noted that "all seven individuals were out of the vehicles when rescuers arrived," enabling expedited transport to local medical facilities.
