Cuban singer Seidy La Niña has stirred her followers by sharing harrowing images from a car accident that nearly claimed her life 11 years ago. "I know these photos are intense, but they might inspire someone who needs it," she wrote alongside images showing her intubated, motionless in a hospital bed, and a large wound across her abdomen.
The photos of the car wreck were even more shocking, with the vehicle completely shattered, making it hard to believe anyone could have survived. The accident left Seidy in a coma for a month. One of her lungs collapsed, and doctors reportedly gave her family little hope of recovery at the time. She underwent emergency surgery during which her abdomen was stitched with 34 stitches to stop internal bleeding.
In a past interview clip she shared on Instagram, Seidy recounted that there was uncertainty about whether she would walk, speak, or recognize people again. In another post, she reflected on the experience: "Eleven years ago, God gave me another chance at life. I'm thankful for every step, every fall, every mistake, but above all, for my life. Miracles do exist, I am one," she wrote next to a photo from that time and a current one of her smiling and thriving.
The post has been met with thousands of messages of support and admiration for her resilience. To many of her followers, Seidy is more than a singer; she is a symbol of overcoming adversity.
