Cuban Man Apprehended in Mexico for Knife Attack on Partner

A Cuban national was detained in Mexico City this week after being accused of attacking and injuring his partner with a knife in Puebla state. The incident, which occurred in May 2024, led to his capture as confirmed by the authorities.

The Puebla State Attorney General's Office (FGE), working alongside Mexico City officials, announced the arrest of Lázaro Rudy N. He is currently under investigation for potential charges of domestic violence and inflicting injuries.

Details of the Incident

According to a statement from the state prosecutor, on May 25, 2024, the accused threatened to kill the victim if she attempted to end their relationship. He then brandished a knife and, during a struggle, caused injuries to her hands. The altercation took place in a residence located in the Héroes de Puebla neighborhood in the city of Puebla.

Judicial Proceedings

The Puebla authorities launched an investigation into the case and secured a warrant for the Cuban's arrest, which eventually led to his apprehension in the Mexican capital. He has since been transferred back to Puebla for further legal proceedings.

Additional Criminal Activities

In recent developments, another Cuban, identified as Yassel D Angelo “N” and/or Yasel “N”, was apprehended in Cancún on charges of human trafficking for sexual exploitation. The Quintana Roo State Attorney General accused him of prostituting, physically abusing, and threatening to kill a 22-year-old woman who was his partner.

Furthermore, in June, a Cuban woman and man were arrested in Mexico City for their alleged involvement in an extortion scheme that alarmed merchants in the Iztacalco borough. Authorities reported that the duo, along with a Mexican accomplice, demanded 50,000 pesos from the victim under the threat of death.
