The Cuban singer Eduardo Antonio once again captivated audiences, this time on the runway at the Doral Fashion Week, with a daring and groundbreaking ensemble that left attendees speechless. His outfit, featuring a tulle cape, vest, tights, and towering platform boots, was designed by Venezuelan creator Idol José. According to the artist, the look was intended to blend "the highly fashionable, elegant, and glamorous aspects like the tulle cape, with more contemporary and urban elements such as the vest," as he explained to CiberCuba.
The ensemble was completed with tights and high boots, items increasingly common in men's wardrobes. "Many men are embracing this type of clothing; you see it on social media and in designs... It's men's clothing but with touches that were once considered feminine," commented Eduardo Antonio, who championed the expressive freedom offered by contemporary fashion.
For the singer, his appearance on the runway was more than just a fashion show: "It's a way to tell the world that fashion has no gender, that outfits are free, and that clothing does not define someone's masculinity or femininity."
Known for his personal and unrestrained style, Eduardo Antonio declared, "Seeing a man in tights, with transparent garments, might be shocking for some, but I've always been bold and free when it comes to dressing. I wear what I like and what I feel suits me."
With this latest appearance, the "El Divo de Placetas" reaffirms his status not only as a music figure but also as a fashion icon, embodying authenticity and individual freedom. While his critics continue to target him, Eduardo responds with elegance and style, as he has throughout his nearly 50-year career, which he is set to celebrate in grand fashion at a concert on August 9th.
