Fire Captain Van Gerpen described a line of people—mostly women—waiting to enter the nightclub when a Nissan Versa barreled into them, also hitting a taco truck and a valet podium. "Everyone was lined up to go into the club. There was a taco cart, so they were having some food while waiting. And there's also a valet line there," he explained. "The valet podium was taken out, the taco truck was hit, and then a large number of people were impacted by the vehicle."
People inside the club rushed out to assist in the moments before emergency teams arrived to offer aid to the victims. Paramedics discovered the driver with a gunshot wound, and he was taken to a nearby hospital. Police have not identified him or disclosed his condition. The shooter was described as a man wearing a blue jersey and carrying a silver revolver.
