A recent photograph featuring reggaeton artists Dany Ome and Kevincito El 13 smiling alongside a Cuban traffic officer has ignited a wave of criticism on social media, particularly among those critical of the island's regime. The image, which was shared on Instagram by influencer Un Martí To Durako, shows the singers embracing the uniformed officer on the street, triggering a flood of negative comments.

The controversy was further fueled by comments from presenter Alexander Otaola, who criticized the artists harshly: "There they are, proudly posing with the oppressors and becoming the pride of those who settle for a sandwich." The backlash was swift, with users expressing their disapproval. Remarks included: "They take pictures with the same people who once beat the hell out of the purest for protesting against the dictatorship, and now they act like it's nothing"; "These people have zero principles"; "I won't pay to see these vultures, especially when I'm in Cuba."

Others pointed out the apparent contradiction of visiting the island and posing with a uniformed officer, part of the repressive system: "Visiting Cuba is one thing, but this is entirely different"; "It's fine to visit Cuba to see family and friends and remember your roots, but taking a picture with one of these guys is too much."

A particularly harsh comment recalled the activist past of Dany Ome's mother: "His mom was a Lady in White, and now years later, her son is in photos with a Cuban cop, the same kind who beat his mother and forced her to seek refuge in this country."

The artists are currently in Havana, where they are scheduled to perform two concerts on July 18 and 19 at the Pabexpo venue. Their trip to Cuba for these shows has stirred significant controversy and divided opinions on social media.
