A devastating fire swept through the town of Güines in Mayabeque province early Monday morning, leading to the complete destruction of three homes and claiming one life. This tragic event has left the local community and authorities in shock.

The blaze, the cause of which remains under investigation, originated in the home of an elderly resident and quickly spread to neighboring houses. Within minutes, everything the residents owned was consumed by flames. The account associated with the official channel Dayan Cuba shared this harrowing story across several Facebook groups.

Photographs from inside the affected homes depict total devastation: burned kitchens, collapsed roofs, charred clothing, blackened walls, and appliances reduced to rubble.

One of the residents, who suffered burns on 80% of his body, was rushed to Miguel Enrique Hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries later in the day.

According to reports, the swift response by the Güines firefighters, emergency medical teams, and the National Revolutionary Police (PNR), including an officer named Adita, was crucial in managing the crisis.

Faced with the scale of the disaster, local authorities have launched a donation drive to support those affected. Contributions are being collected at the municipal government's public service offices.
