Cuban journalist Javier Díaz, well-known as a presenter for Noticias Univisión 23 in Miami, has announced his official return to television after overcoming a significant health crisis. "I'll be back on Univisión this Thursday," he shared on his Facebook profile, where he also provided updates about his medical recovery.

Díaz revealed that, although he was eager to return sooner, he chose to adhere to the rest period advised by his doctors to prevent any setbacks. Recently, he experienced intense lower back pain due to a herniated disc, which necessitated an emergency hospital visit and left him nearly immobile for several days. The hernia was compressing a nerve, causing debilitating pain that caught him off guard as he was unaware of having this condition.

Currently, Díaz reports feeling substantially better. "The severe pain has subsided, and I can walk well, with only minor discomfort that I hope will fade over time," he mentioned. He also noted that he must adapt to living with this condition permanently and focus on strengthening his lower back muscles to avert future incidents.

Maintaining his optimistic demeanor, Díaz expressed gratitude for the support from his followers: "Thank you once again for all the support; your concern and messages were crucial for staying positive," he remarked. He also appreciated the advice from others who share this ailment. "I am known for my positivity and ability to overcome challenges," he concluded in his post, reiterating his return to the studios on Thursday to continue informing the Hispanic community in Miami.

Beyond his media work, Javier Díaz has gained prominence for his activism from exile, highlighting human rights violations in Cuba and frequently reflecting on the essence of living in freedom. From Miami, he has repeatedly affirmed his commitment to truth and his duty as a journalist to amplify the voices of Cubans suppressed by the regime. His return to television is celebrated by colleagues and supporters who admire his professionalism, determination, and the courage with which he faces both personal challenges and those of his homeland.
