A surveillance video released by NBC Miami captures the dramatic moment when Cuban reggaeton star Chocolate MC, whose real name is Yosvanis Sierra-Hernández, kidnaps a man in a parking lot in Opa-locka, north of Miami. The footage, taken on June 3, shows the artist brandishing a gun at the victim. The video leaves little room for doubt: Chocolate MC confronts the man in the parking lot, then enters the victim's vehicle, threatens him again, and forces him to drive while he sits in the passenger seat.

The victim, identified as Daniel Pérez, had previously shared his harrowing experience with Telemundo, describing feelings of panic, helplessness, and a fear of dying. According to Pérez, he did not approach the singer; rather, it was the other way around. "I was talking to my wife on a video call, asking her which brand of detergent she wanted me to buy. When he saw me with the phone, he said, 'You're recording me.' I replied that I wasn't, I was talking to my wife. Then he put the gun to my chest and said he was taking my car."

Pérez recounted that the situation quickly turned into a nightmare. "He demanded my phone and took it from me. Since he couldn't find the car keys, he told me to get in with him and drive." Under constant threat, Chocolate forced him to drive around various parts of the city. "The more he made me drive, the more he rambled… I didn't speak, I just kept thinking about how to get out. The stress and helplessness were so overwhelming that I considered crashing into a pole."

The artist allegedly kept a white gun pointed at him throughout the ordeal. "He never said if it was a toy or not. I saw his finger on the trigger and thought about my family. I couldn't do anything because if the gun went off, that would be it for me," Pérez recounted. Although he escaped unharmed, he decided to report Chocolate MC. "I got out fine, but it could happen to a child, an elderly person, or someone else. He's a person who doesn't care about anything. I was simply in the wrong place," he stated.

As for those who claim the singer needs psychiatric help, Pérez was clear: "No, brother. He doesn't need mental help. What he needs is to get off drugs. The best place for him is prison. Because at any moment, he's going to shoot someone."

Arrest and Unyielding Legal Troubles

The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office arrested the singer later that day, around 8:20 p.m. They confiscated a toy gun, white and black, similar to the one used in the kidnapping, which he admitted to using to "scare the victim." Chocolate was booked into the TGK jail, held without bail due to violating the conditions of a previous probation. In court, the reggaeton artist denied being "crazy" and claimed he feels "safer in prison."

He also alleged that someone might be "paying to have him killed," similar to what he claimed happened with fellow reggaeton artist El Taiger. This marks the ninth arrest for Chocolate MC in eight years and the fifth case opened in Florida. Over these years, he has faced charges including sexual assault, kidnapping, grand theft, domestic violence, and even alleged conspiracy to commit murder. Due to violating prior probation conditions, he has been denied bail and must remain in prison until his trial.
