Arlenys Martínez Blanco, a 10-year-old girl who sustained serious injuries in a tragic accident on June 21st on the Luis Lazo highway in Pinar del Río, has been discharged from the hospital and is now home with her grandmother. The accident, caused by a runaway truck that veered out of control and struck pedestrians on the sidewalk, resulted in four fatalities, including a 9-year-old girl and a pregnant woman.

Arlenys, who was diagnosed with moderate traumatic brain injury, received intensive care at the Pepe Portilla Pediatric Hospital. She remained under close observation for several days, according to a statement by the Pinar del Río Provincial Health Directorate on Facebook.

Meanwhile, other individuals injured in the accident remain hospitalized, including Alberto Rodríguez Martínez, who is in critical condition after emergency surgery for a hemoperitoneum.
