Michael Marichal, Cuban Rapper, Faces Arrest in Miami for Alleged Harassment of Ex-Girlfriend

Cuban rapper Michael Marichal, renowned for his outspoken lyrics against the Havana regime, has been taken into custody in South Florida. He faces charges of aggravated harassment and cyberstalking involving his ex-girlfriend. This case has drawn public attention due to both the severity of the allegations and Marichal's public profile.

According to the arrest report, the 49-year-old Doral resident allegedly sent "dozens of text messages and emails" to the victim, accusing her of infecting him with a sexually transmitted disease. Furthermore, he reportedly shared on social media a photo of the woman, alongside claims implicating her in a supposed gonorrhea transmission.

Authorities also revealed that Marichal allegedly reached out to the woman's children and colleagues, thereby extending the alleged harassment into her family and professional life. The victim, as reported by Local 10, told the police on June 5 that she decided to file a complaint due to fear of Marichal's behavior and uncertainty about "what he might be capable of."

Michael Marichal gained prominence in 2022 with his song "Tu Revolución," a direct opposition to the Cuban regime, which established him as a dissenting voice within the exile art movement. However, he now faces a legal battle that could tarnish both his career and public image.

The artist remains detained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with bail set at $7,500. Miami-Dade County authorities have not provided further details about the case. Marichal is expected to appear before a judge in the coming days to formally address the charges.
