A tragic accident on Thursday morning in La Campiña, a stretch of road located between El Majá and Taguasco in the province of Sancti Spíritus, left two people dead and two others injured. The crash involved a Diana school bus from Ciego de Ávila, which collided head-on with a private Renault car, as reported by the official newspaper Escambray.

The scene of the accident, as captured in photographs, shows the extent of the destruction: the car was left in ruins, a twisted heap of metal beyond recognition.

Identities of the Victims

According to reports from the Ministry of the Interior (Minint) and Forensic Medicine, the individuals who lost their lives were identified as Yansi Camellón Pérez, 42, from Meneses, and Odalys María Pérez Álvarez, 51, from Campechuela. Both were traveling in the private vehicle at the time of the accident.

The injured parties, Yasmani López Conde (46) and Anelieses González Rodríguez (49), both hail from Ciego de Ávila. They sustained multiple injuries and are receiving treatment at the Camilo Cienfuegos Provincial General Hospital in Sancti Spíritus. According to the medical report, their lives are not in danger.
