Chocolate MC Urges Mother from Jail to Stop Claiming Mental Issues: "I'm Not Crazy, Mom"

Sunday, June 15, 2025 by Isabella Rojas

Cuban reggaeton artist Chocolate MC has reached out from prison to assert that he is mentally sound and not suffering from psychological issues. In a phone call shared by the profile Papel Encara, the musician urged his mother to cease efforts to gather documents or evidence suggesting he has mental disorders, which some believe is an attempt to secure a humanitarian visa.

"I’ve already told my mom to stop looking for papers or strange things to prove I'm crazy. I'm not crazy, mom, I'm more sane than you," declared the reggaeton star.

Chocolate also distanced himself from the Yoruba religion, which he previously embraced, and asked his mother to stop pressuring him to return to "the paths of Santería."

"Get rid of Obatalá and all those saints, you’re the ones who are crazy. Don’t try to convince me to go back to collecting saints, to return to the paths of Santería, witchcraft, and that dark world. No, I'm not crazy, I'm very clear. God enlightened me, God showed me the right path is with Him," he stated.

The controversial reggaeton artist, who is currently imprisoned on serious charges, claimed that his family does not provide genuine love and that he feels abandoned by even his closest circle. He mentioned that his sister blocked him three days after he was incarcerated, his girlfriend, Yelena Ramírez, does not answer his calls, and his mother is allegedly trying to exploit his situation by implying mental health issues to gain a humanitarian visa.

Chocolate went so far as to say that since arriving in the United States, his only family has been the police at the detention center, who care for him each time he returns.

"I’m not using the phone because I need to stay far away from social media and distractions; I need to find myself and connect with my inner self. I'm undergoing a purification process from within," he affirmed.

The King of the Reparteros added that he is content with the affection he receives from his followers and fans who remain attentive to his situation.
