Yelena Ramírez, the girlfriend of reggaeton artist Chocolate, has made a public plea for help following his latest arrest. She urges intervention, warning that there is still time to act and not abandon him like they did with El Taiger. "I know Yosvany has a big heart. The only problem is he's not doing well," she revealed in a Telemundo 51 interview.

Yelena highlighted the emotional turmoil the artist is experiencing. "He's not okay; he needs help and has been left alone, just like El Taiger was. They're not taking care of their artists," she emphasized. "When something happens to him, then everyone will want to step in, just like with El Taiger. There's still time," she reiterated.

The young woman stressed that Yosvanys Sierra Arismin, known as Chocolate, requires support and companionship from both his fans and family. Regarding the circumstances leading to his current state, she noted, "There are a lot of things happening, many betrayals from both friends and women. It's too much."

The Incident Leading to Chocolate's Arrest

Yelena Ramírez detailed that she and Chocolate had planned to stay in a hotel the night before a court appearance he had scheduled for Wednesday related to another legal matter. She recounted going home to change clothes when she received a call from jail. She started crying, and Chocolate told her, "They got me."

Her account of the incident differs from the arrest warrant details released by the media. "A guy drove by and recorded him, which upset him because, obviously, you don't want to be filmed without consent," she explained, not mentioning the alleged weapon used to threaten the fan, an action captured by security cameras.

"Yosvany was in a bad place, not thinking clearly at the time," she observed, adding that Chocolate had told the fan, "I'm not going to hurt you or take your car because that's not who I am." He then went to the hotel to wait for her, but the man seemingly followed him, discovered his location, and called the police.

Yelena did not mention allegations that Chocolate demanded money from the fan or held him in a car for hours before releasing him, as stated in the arrest warrant. The incident took place in the parking lot of Chávez supermarket in Opa-locka, on the morning of June 3rd.

The prosecution noted that the weapon appeared to be a replica or toy, yet formal charges were filed. A consulted attorney explained that typically, bail is denied for someone who commits another crime while out on bail, or if they are on probation and get arrested again. As a result, Chocolate was denied bail on Wednesday.

Yelena left a message for her partner: "My love, I love you, and don't worry because at least I won't leave you alone."

Chocolate's Legal Troubles Deepen

Chocolate has been arrested nine times since 2016 and currently faces five active legal cases. He missed a court appearance on Tuesday for a previous case involving robbery and solicitation for first-degree murder. In his absence, the judge rescheduled for Wednesday, but his new arrest prevented his attendance.

Chocolate MC is dealing with four other open legal proceedings, and this new case brings the total to five. Previous charges include:

  • Burglary of an unoccupied dwelling
  • Possession of controlled substances
  • Attempted use of controlled substances
  • Criminal mischief between $200 and $1,000
  • Written threats of murder or bodily harm
  • Illegal use of telecommunications devices

In one of these cases, he is accused of issuing death threats against Damian Valdez-Galloso, the man charged with murdering fellow reggaeton artist El Taiger.

Recent Statements from the Artist

Interestingly, just days before his most recent arrest, Chocolate MC gave an exclusive interview to Telemundo 51, stating he was undergoing personal changes. "I'm going to stay calm, try to get things right, and hope the police leave me alone," he assured journalist Yusnaby Pérez.

In that conversation, the reggaeton artist acknowledged past mistakes and expressed a desire to improve: "I have kids, I have a family. I know it's time to change habits."

The arrest comes only a week after his release on bail on May 25, following a brief stint in jail. Chocolate's mother, residing in Spain, has publicly requested a visa to travel to the United States to care for her son, citing drug addiction issues, mental instability, and concerns for his life.

Since arriving in the United States in 2017 with a cultural visa, Chocolate MC has been arrested nine times, further complicating his legal situation and his stay in the country. He has had a deportation order since 2022, but the Cuban government has not accepted it.
