A tragic incident unfolded in Milan, Italy, where a 13-year-old boy succumbed to stab wounds on Friday, May 16. Authorities have charged a 27-year-old man from Cuba, allegedly involved in drug trafficking, with the crime.

According to Milano Corriere, the suspect, identified as Martínez Despaigne, has no prior criminal record. Employed at a company in Melzo, Despaigne also allegedly peddles drugs in his spare time. He is currently detained at San Vittore prison in Milan, facing charges related to the attempted murder of the young boy and the killing of the boy's dog over "20 grams of hashish."

The Events Leading to the Tragic Incident

Local reports suggest the violent altercation stemmed from a botched drug deal involving three teenagers and the Cuban suspect. The 13-year-old victim, accompanied by two friends, one of whom reportedly knew Despaigne, was attempting to purchase hashish in Viale Vittorio Veneto, near Porta Venezia. Despaigne allegedly offered 20 grams of hashish for 120 euros. Dissatisfied with the product's quality, the victim began arguing with the alleged drug dealer, who then brandished a knife, fatally stabbing the dog before turning on the boy, puncturing his lung.

Escape and Capture

In a desperate attempt to flee, the teenagers managed to get into a car, but Despaigne clung to the window, continuing his assault. Despite their efforts, the boy, gravely injured with a lung-piercing wound, collapsed unconscious at the entrance of a nearby medical center.

Law enforcement eventually tracked Despaigne to his residence in Pozzuolo Martesana, where he lived with his mother. Upon sighting the authorities, he attempted to escape but was swiftly apprehended. At the time of his arrest, Despaigne had a laceration on his right hand, consistent with the attack.

Further investigation led to the discovery of the suspected weapon, a knife with a blade approximately 20 cm long.
