The Ministry of the Interior (MININT) labeled the incident as "reprehensible," noting that the attacker, armed with a knife, struck the officer from behind.

The suspect, who was quickly apprehended, was reportedly wandering the area while consuming alcohol, according to a statement on the ministry's Facebook page. The official report emphasized that the aggressor acted with "malice," endangering the young officer's life.

The statement also highlighted the support from onlookers present at the scene, whose cooperation, alongside the swift reaction of law enforcement, led to the rapid capture of the assailant. "The individual apprehended will be brought before the revolutionary justice system," the statement noted.
