A simple complaint about a food order at a fast food restaurant took a horrifying turn on Wednesday, May 21, when a customer was fatally shot by an employee after asking to speak with the manager. According to the Osceola County Sheriff's Office, the tragic event unfolded around 10:10 p.m. at a Checkers location on West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, as reported by The Miami Herald.

Wesley Robertson, aged 51, was identified as the victim who had voiced his dissatisfaction with the lack of condiments in his order and repeatedly requested to see the manager. Eyewitnesses reported that Elijah Travis Mackey, a 23-year-old employee, exited the restaurant to engage in a verbal confrontation with Robertson.

The altercation rapidly escalated, with witnesses stating that Mackey drew a firearm and shot Robertson in the chest. Despite being rushed to Osceola Regional Medical Center, Robertson was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Following the shooting, Mackey fled the scene on foot but was soon discovered hiding under a staircase at a nearby hotel. Upon his arrest, he admitted to carrying a weapon and persistently inquired about Robertson's condition.
