Current U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his condolences on Sunday regarding the cancer diagnosis of former President Joe Biden. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump conveyed their sadness over the news of Biden's illness through a post on the social media platform Truth Social.

"Melania and I are saddened to learn about Joe Biden's recent medical diagnosis. We send our best wishes to Jill and their family and wish Joe a swift and complete recovery," Trump shared.

Donald Trump Jr. also extended his well wishes on Instagram, emphasizing that despite political differences, he hopes for Biden's speedy recovery.

It was announced by Biden's personal office on Sunday that the 82-year-old former president is battling an "aggressive form" of prostate cancer, which has spread to other areas. Biden's health came under scrutiny last week following the discovery of a prostate nodule and worsening urinary symptoms. By Friday, he was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer, marked by a Gleason score of 9 with bone metastasis.

Numerous political figures, including those from Trump's administration, have expressed their support for Biden. Cuban-American Secretary of State Marco Rubio shared his sentiments on X, stating, "Jeanette and I are praying for the Biden family during these challenging times."

Former Vice President and Biden's running mate, Kamala Harris, also released a statement, noting that she and her husband are keeping the former president and his family in their prayers. "Joe is a fighter, and I know he will approach this challenge with the strength, resilience, and optimism that have always defined his life and leadership," Harris wrote.

New York Attorney General Letitia James offered her heartfelt message, describing the news as "heartbreaking." She expressed her prayers for Biden and his family, hoping for a full recovery.

Health Concerns and Political Ramifications

Biden's health has played a significant role in his decision to step back from the presidential race. In July, he announced he would not seek re-election, partly due to pressure from his party and concerns over his physical and mental well-being.

The former president has faced various age-related health issues, including obstructive sleep apnea, peripheral neuropathy, and moderate to severe spondylosis, all contributing to pain and mobility challenges.

Throughout his political career, Trump has consistently criticized Biden. He has accused the Democrat of allowing a "criminal invasion" at the southern border, asserting that Biden's immigration policies have enabled millions, including criminals, to enter the United States, posing a national security threat.

Just last month, Trump labeled Biden as "the worst president in U.S. history."
