Corliss, on the other hand, reportedly attempted to arrange a sexual encounter with a minor after communicating online with someone who turned out to be another undercover officer.
Out of the total arrested, 141 face charges for soliciting prostitution services, 93 for offering such services, 11 for attempting to engage in sexual acts with minors, and 10 for other related offenses. Additionally, authorities noted that 36 individuals were in the country illegally, including several immigrants from various countries.
The operation also resulted in the arrest of medical personnel, an active-duty military member, and 13 U.S. military veterans. Conducted over nine days, the operation involved collaboration between local and federal agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
During the sting, four potential human trafficking victims were identified and will receive specialized care and support. Sheriff Grady Judd emphasized that prostitution is not a "victimless crime."
“People might think this is just a simple exchange, but there are real victims behind each of these acts. This crime fuels exploitation, addiction, disease, and the destruction of families,” Judd stated.
