Cuban Reggaeton Artist Chocolate MC Claims Bail Paid, Social Media Reacts: "I Need That Lawyer's Number"

Sunday, May 18, 2025 by Sophia Martinez

Cuban reggaeton artist Chocolate MC announced that he has paid his bail and expects to be released shortly, after his arrest on April 27th in Miami. During a phone call from jail, shared on Instagram by influencer Un Martí To Durako, Chocolate confidently stated, "I just posted bail, I'm coming out ready." He was heard laughing and mocking, saying, "Who can do more, you or my lord? Who can do more, you or my lawyer?"

Following his arrest after being on the run, Chocolate faced multiple charges, including hotel room robbery, possession of controlled substances (crack), criminal mischief, written threats of murder and bodily harm, illegal use of a communication device, among others, with his bail set at over $7,000.

Despite the seriousness of some charges, many are questioning how his attorney, Adolfo Gil, managed to secure his release so quickly. Social media reactions are mixed, with disbelief over his swift release and praises for the lawyer who consistently helps him out of legal troubles. Comments on the post included, "Without a doubt, the lord is the best, but your lawyer is the second best, and I won't argue that"; "Choco's lawyer is definitely the lawyer of the year"; "I need that lawyer's number"; "Naty back with us for another season, stronger than ever"; "Respect to that lawyer"; "It's crazy, so many people working hard and doing everything right in this country without harming a fly for fear of deportation, and this guy does everything and doesn't spend even a month in jail, life's unfair"; "Where did that lawyer graduate from?"

With Chocolate's criminal record in the United States and a deportation order from years ago, he has not been sent back to Cuba, as the Cuban regime has refused his repatriation. Just a few days ago, Chocolate worried his fans from jail with words that many interpreted as an emotional crisis, but it seems he is fine and it might have been another strategy to attract attention.
