The incident was brought to light on Facebook by Yureibys Torresilla, who urged for a "prayer chain" for the victim, described as "a special young man, member of our solidarity and aid group."

According to the post, the man is in critical condition in the intensive care unit of the Camilo Cienfuegos Provincial Hospital. "He is in intensive care, critical, and the doctors are doing everything possible," Torresilla noted, expressing confidence in the hospital's medical team.

The violent attack occurred at night when the assailant, whose identity remains unknown, allegedly entered the young man’s house and attacked him with a machete in front of his young children.
