A Cuban woman living in Ecuador recently took to social media to showcase the impressive amount of groceries she managed to purchase with just $10.50. Her followers were amazed by the affordable prices and wide array of products available in Ecuador.

In a TikTok video shared by user @yeniacubita, she revealed her shopping haul, which included cheese, a pound of chicken gizzards, eight chicken thighs, plantains for frying, tomatoes, onions, and avocado. All of this cost her a mere $10.50.

"Look at all the fresh fruits you can find here throughout Ecuador," she remarked as she gave a tour of the open-air market where she made her purchases. The scenes she captured present a stark contrast to the harsh realities faced by Cubans on the island, where soaring prices, food shortages, and low purchasing power make it increasingly difficult to provide for one's family.

In Cuba, the same amount of money would barely secure a handful of basic goods, and sometimes not even that.
